Worthington Evening Street Science Fair |
Welcome Volunteers
The students are working very hard on their projects, so your help is greatly appreciated!
Our greatest need will be for Listeners (both during the morning and in the evening). If you plan on attending the Open House anyways, consider checking out the students' projects and just give some feedback- that's all it takes to be a volunteer Listener. If you're tied up with the kids, consider going around as a family to check out friends' projects (something they would be doing anyways). This is all it takes to be a Listener!

Information for Listeners
Thank you for volunteering. Get ready to be amazed with the student’s knowledge, poise and confidence in presenting!
Your role as a Listener is to encourage students to tell you about their project. They love to talk about their work with you but some students may need a little more encouragement than others.
Check In at the Welcome table to see where you will start. Pick up a clipboard, Feedback form, pen and name tag. Encourage students to tell you about their project, with sample questions below. Take note of their strongest elements and accentuate the positive on the Feedback Form. In an effort to make sure that Listeners are able to reach every student who wants to present, we will use a sticker system to indicate how many presentations they have given. Leave a sticker on their project name tag and a Feedback form behind.
Morning Listeners: We will have 3 groups of Listeners coming through, including Mrs. Quart’s TWHS Science class from 8:40-9:15am. The students will be sent down by classroom. Every student should have at least 3 chances to present. After that, remind them to return to their class.
Open House Listeners: As a suggestion, you may want to sign up for the opposite time slot to when your child is presenting. This will give you a chance to be there while they are presenting and gives them a chance to be peer Listeners themselves.
FYI- Group 1 Students with last names A-H will present from 6:30-7 pm. Group 2 students with last names I-Z will present 7-7:30 pm.
